Alan spent the last year and a half of the decade trying to secure a staff writing position with Warner Brothers Records, hanging on to the coattails of songwriter, John Dees, whose credits include Fleetwood Mac, Boston & The Righteous Brothers. Alan and John submitted songs to everyone from Reba McEntire to Stevie Nicks and all over Nashville and Los Angeles. During that same time, Alan met Mark and the other Alan, starting the musical collaboration that has lasted till today. In the mid nineties, Alan came home to Texas and joined the Psychic Cowboys to bring the unique brand of original music — previously only done in the studio — to live audiences. Some of those originals have remained part of our set. Alan still experiments with side projects, Jim Stringer, The LaSalles, The Uptown Show and Flamin’ Desire. In yet another side project, he’s currently preparing to release a CD of original music under the name, Alan Kent Barnette.
